A purely abstract painting tells a story or stirs an emotion without using generally identifiable images. Color and design are the star players. With this piece, I wanted to convey the feeling of tremendous energy being expended, frenetic movement, and excitement with, perhaps, an underlying threat of something slightly sinister. Fun and creatively energizing!
This is one of two paintings accepted into the Artists of Rubber City annual juried exhibition which will run from July 11 through August 23. The gallery is open on Thursdays and Friday's from 12:00 - 5:00 PM and is located on the third floor of Summit ArtSpace, located at the corner of Summit and Market Street in Akron.
