All Aglow...

"All Aglow"   Encaustic
Painting with molten wax (encaustic painting) is fun and challenging, and paintings can be created by a variety of methods.  One common method is using a heated tray on which containers of pigmented wax are placed.  A brush or some other tool is then used to apply the melted wax to a surface (paper, wood, etc.).  Another method would be melting the wax directly on the hot tray and then maneuvering the paper on the melted wax to create an image, which I have done.  However, my preferred method is using a small craft iron, melting the wax onto the iron and then using the iron to apply the wax.  That is the method used in the above painting to create an impressionistic image of a vase filled with flowers.
